Joshua Tree Cabin Project / Sunever Road
After scouting dozens of cabins, the sweeping views and do-it-yourself charm of the simple structure in north Joshua Tree called us back. This small homesteader had been the first thing we came across when we got bit by the idea to purchase a little slice of the desert. What initially seemed “maybe too far out from town” turned out to be perfect, and I still get a little buzz following the “take your left when Winters becomes dirt” part of the directions. It was 480 square feet, built in 1959, and we couldn’t wait to get our mark on it. -Brett
